I recently found the digital stack that contained all my old pictures. I was looking through and thought it might be fun to post some.
On a hike along the Clackamas River, we found this log that was a waterfall.
Early spring at the Portland Chinese Classical Garden. An Iris.
Nearby, a Cornus.
LOL. Xzibit: "Yo Dawg. I heard you like mating bugs..."
Early in the year, with lots of snow.
Closest I've ever come to a wild owl. This one was ready to pounce! and he was nearly the size of a Robin. Actually, their first line of defense is to stand still. Second line of defense is to defecate. Third line of defense is to run away. Northern Saw Whet Owl.
We bought our first house in 2004.
Front.
Backyard.
Things sure did change.
2004 was the first time I ever saw Cypripedium montanum in the wild.
Forma welchii w/spiderian.
That fall, we visited NM. The Zozobra festival was going on and we burned him to the ground, for some reason.
Meanwhile, at Tsankawi, a thousands-of-years-old Zozobra stood watch. Either that or robots enslaved the native people long before Western reckoning.
Also at Tsankawi, Apache Plume.
It was only mid September, but the Aspens were already changing.
Gentiana parryi.
Mimulus luteus.
Some sort of Caterpillar.
Lisa in a lovely mountain meadow.
Back in Portland, we hiked Larch Mountain.
Lots of Fungus were among us.
I made Cairns at the White Salmon River.
After a long day of hiking, David was tired and his "friends" weren't.
During X-mas break, we went up to Lake Tahoe/Reno to visit family. Here's Lisa next to the lake.
In the hotel room, somewhere. That's right. I hope you've been getting proper authorization.
Last, here's Magoo being warm and unhelpful.
