Our trip to D.C. was very nice... though I'm sure glad that I'm here in Portland where it's going to be a high of 72F today... in mid August.

Back at the beginning of the month, my Phragmipedium popowii bloomed. Last year it got sun scorched and bud blasted. I repotted it recently and it has tons of great roots, so I'm expecting more next year. It's got 10 growths.

Petals were about 27 inches.

First flowers on my Rhododendron leucogigas X Kurt Herbert Adler. Flowers opened frosted pink and faded white with pink corners. Very fragrant!
